Openreach announce timeline for withdrawal of WLR Products

Are you using VoIP/Broadband for your business calls yet?  Openreach announce timeline for withdrawal of WLR Products (Traditional ISDN/Analogues lines)

In its report “Upgrading the Access Network: The Withdrawal of WLR Products and the Smooth Transition to Internet Protocol Voice Services”, Openreach yesterday announced its proposed timeline for the withdrawal of WLR products, indicating that it intends to give formal notice for the restriction of the supply of WLR products as early as September this year, with formal notification of complete withdrawal to be given in December 2020.   Openreach will cease the sale of all WLR products in 2023 with a complete withdrawal of all WLR products by 2025.

What does this mean for your business?  Put quite simply this means that if you are not using Broadband for your business calls right now, you will need to upgrade sooner than originally predicted.

In fact, the old phonelines will begin to be restricted as early as early as Autumn 2018 and will be completely unavailable by 2025.
